Porn...
I think we will all agree that the Church today is totally embarassed and frightened to tackle the issue of porn! The truth is that we can't afford to be! We can't afford to be hiding behind silly excuses or long-standing and unbiblical traditions or using the same old cliches as reasons for not dealing with the issue. Our silence allows the devil to hold his power fully over this issue, allows the power of it to increase in individuals lives as it continues to remain secret, allows for the depression to enter into peoples lives who gennuinely want to get out of the web of addiction but can't do it on their own and can't talk of it because of the taboo nature of it! XXXChurch have been over this week and have brought a bit more attention to the issue, and over the next while I will post more. I hope that now is the time for ALL of us to get involved in seeing the issue tackled, people helped, people restored, people saved, chains broken, families restored, sexual crime fall, reality come back, social integration increase and Jesus glorified as the One who has the power ot make it happen and as the One who has MADE it happen! The nature of pornography is progressive and degenerative (as Ted Bundy admits above), the results of pornography are devastating, and the time to act is now! And we must remember that it affects the person in the pew just as much as the person on the street!

have you read the book......ahhh i forget the title, but its by that xxx church dude? it really shook me to my core to read about some of the tragic stories of people who got destroyed by porn.
When i was 21, maybe 22 and only a Christian for about 3 years or so i got completely immersed in porn on the net, i had just got my own pc in my room and when the door was shut it was so tempting to have a "wee" look............i am so thankful that it didnt consume me BUT i have to say, i have internet boundaries that i try to adhere to, i am scared not to, just in case. Its a serious serious issue that we cannot ignore
Yes mate I did read that book! It was mad to read of the stuff in the actual industry and how the people quite often are devastated and are being deadedned more and more! The stories are horrific! I know firsthand the struggle, after an addiction of around 10 years to the dirt. Did you know that, now, apparently the average age of someone coming into contact with it is 11, and that there are currently 400,000,000 webpages of it on the net and that"sex" is the most frequently searched for word in google! We can't ignore it anymore is right!
Ah mate, the stats that xxxchurch brought to light were astounding the other day!
Surely Christ is calling for some shift in the mindset of the church, men and women to be killing lust or lust will be killing us. We've talked before about how lust is crippling the church and how many guys are living in defeat to this addiction of porn & masterbation.
May Christ help us!

Ted Bundy replied, "I grew up in a wonderful home with two dedicated and loving parents, as one of 5 brothers and sisters. We, as children, were the focus of my parent’s lives. We regularly attended church. My parents did not drink or smoke or gamble. There was no physical abuse or fighting in the home. I’m not saying it was 'Leave it to Beaver', but it was a fine, solid Christian home."
Does being raised in a Christian home cause someone to rape and murder?
Bundy doesn't blame porn, "Before we go any further, it is important to me that people believe what I’m saying. I’m not blaming pornography."
But it really makes no difference what he says because he's just one guy, and not the most credible.
Sorry, I didn't realise there was another comment left. The point here is not that pornography is the thing that needs "blamed" for Ted Bundy's actons. The point here is also not that Ted Bundy is the most credible to speak authoritatively on a subject. The point is that Ted Bundy, one who committed extreme acts of violence, said that there is a link. Not that it is to blame, but it can't be denied that it has a place in the thinking, motivation or actions of those who commit the violent acts. It's the first thing he alludes to in the clip in this post. The intention in wiriting this post was to make the simple statement "The nature of pornography is progressive and degenerative", not meaning that all who view it are going to murder or commit rape, but that there are consequences in many areas due to viewing it. ESPECIALLY in our relationship with God. As a truly commited Christian, pornography, just like all other sin, is an affront and offense to God that invokes His displeasure and anger against us. The call is to be right with God, and after that do what pleases Him, and what is good for us and all those around us, by leaving this dirt behind! Porn is not to blame, but we are and our sinful natures and sin loving hearts and the truth is that everyone has that same nature and heart whether they were raised in a Christian home or not.
